TZ Duo Tee Off for Karen Challenge Success

Tanzania's Enosh Wanyeche and Madina Iddi are set to fly the country's flag at the NCBA Karen Challenge 2026, scheduled for August 7–9 at Karen Country Club in Nairobi, Kenya.

The two golfers will be chasing silverware against a strong regional and international field in one of Kenya's premier amateur golf tournaments.

Wanyeche, who represents TPDF Lugalo Golf Club in Dar es Salaam, heads into the tournament determined to improve on his last outing in Kenya two weeks ago. 

He successfully made the cut and finished tied for 39th in a field of more than 150 golfers from around the world.

Speaking to Royal Golf, Wanyeche expressed confidence ahead of the three-day championship.

"I thank God I'm in good condition, well prepared and looking forward to a tough duel," he said.

Meanwhile, Madina Iddi of Arusha Gymkhana Club arrives in Nairobi in impressive form after reigniting her 2026 campaign with a sensational runner-up finish at the NCBA Ruiru Open in June, earning valuable World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points.

Iddi opened the tournament with back-to-back rounds of one-under-par 72 before carding a one-over-par 74 in the final round on the par-73 course.

Her three-round total of 218 (one-under-par) secured a share of second place alongside Kenya's John Kamaisi and Josphat Rono, while Eugine Wafula claimed the title with a two-under-par total of 217 after rounds of 70, 73 and 74.

With Wanyeche seeking redemption after his encouraging performance in his previous Kenyan event and Iddi carrying strong momentum from Ruiru, Tanzania will be hopeful of challenging for top honours at this year's NCBA Karen Challenge.
