MOROGORO, Sunday
Enoshi Wanyeche has won the Ephraim Mapoore Memorial Morogoro Open 2026, completing a remarkable three-year winning streak after successfully defending the title.

Speaking to the Royal Golf after his victory, Wanyeche first thanked God for giving him the strength, good health and ability to compete throughout the three-day tournament.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank Almighty God, the God of mercy, for giving me the strength and good health to compete throughout all three days.”
Wanyeche, who represents TPDF Lugalo Golf Club in Dar es Salaam, said he had prepared thoroughly for the tournament, particularly during training, knowing he arrived in Morogoro as the defending champion.
His victory also came shortly after he won another national title in Mufindi, Iringa Region a week ago.
The 2026 triumph marks Wanyeche’s third consecutive Morogoro Open title, having also won the championship in 2024 and 2025, further underlining his dominance in the competition.
The three-time champion also expressed his gratitude to the various stakeholders who have supported his career and helped nurture his talent.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the different stakeholders who have continued to support me and my talent. Without their support, I would not be where I am today.”
Wanyeche reserved special appreciation for his family, saying they have remained a strong source of support throughout his golfing journey.
