ZANZIBAR is set to use golf as a platform to promote tourism, business networking and international engagement when Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Golf Club hosts the 2026 CEOs Luxury Retreat Golf Day tournament on September 26.
More than 42 golfers from Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, South Africa and Nigeria have already confirmed participation, while golfers from Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam and Arusha have also registered.

The event is expected to bring together chief executive officers (CEOs), diplomats, business leaders and golfers, creating opportunities for networking while showcasing Zanzibar as a destination for golf tourism.
Sea Cliff Golf Club Captain Tazio Bercelli said preparations were progressing well, describing the tournament as an important platform for connecting the business and golfing communities.
“We are pleased to inform all golfers around the globe that preparations for the prestigious CEO Golf Day 2026 are going well,” Bercelli said.

The tournament will feature an 18-hole Stableford competition for individual men and women golfers with eligible handicaps.
Beyond the sporting competition, organisers expect the international participation to generate wider benefits for Zanzibar’s hospitality and tourism sectors as visiting golfers use hotels, restaurants, transport and other tourism services during their stay.
Bercelli said the event would also allow the club to showcase its facilities to an international audience while strengthening links between business leaders and the golfing fraternity.
The tournament has attracted support from companies across the corporate, tourism, transport and hospitality sectors, including Vodacom, Exim Bank, AMREF Flying Doctors, United Petroleum, MMI Steel Tanzania, Tanzania Breweries and White Sands Resort and Conference Centre.
Other supporters include Villa Kiva, ZMMI, RK Sadricko Fragrances, Sea Cliff Resort & Spa, Auric Air, Kenya Airways, Park Hyatt Zanzibar, Rupa’s Gift Centre, Zanzi Resort, Multi-Color Printers, Zanzibar Serena Hotel and Azam Marine.

The US$120 entry fee includes driving-range practice, halfway lunch, soft drinks and a gala dinner.
Set against Zanzibar’s Indian Ocean coastline, the tournament is expected to combine competitive golf with hospitality and networking, while helping position golf as an additional component of the islands’ tourism offering.
