Tanzania’s emerging golf star Enosh Wanyeche has been hailed by TPDF Lugalo Golf Club Chairman, Ambassador Major General Wilbert Ibuge, after completing a historic hat-trick of Morogoro Open titles.
Wanyeche secured his third consecutive title over the weekend, finishing the 54-hole championship at three-under-par 213 after rounds of 70, 72 and 71.
The 2026 triumph extends his dominance of the prestigious tournament, having previously won the title in 2024 and 2025.
His latest success also comes just a week after he claimed another national title at Mufindi in the Iringa Region, underlining his impressive run of form on the Tanzanian golf circuit.
Congratulating Wanyeche on his achievement, Ambassador Ibuge said the golfer deserved recognition for his commitment, discipline and hard work.
“Wanyeche deserves all the commendation for what he has done and the hard work he has put in,” Ibuge told Royal Golf.
“This is a good example for others to follow and should encourage them to put in more effort for the benefit of the individual, the club and the country at large,” he added.
On behalf of the TPDF Lugalo Golf Club management and the entire membership, Ibuge congratulated Wanyeche on his latest achievement and encouraged him to maintain his progress while continuing to aim for greater heights in the sport.
Wanyeche, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the Lugalo Golf Club leadership for their continued support, particularly in creating an environment where young golfers can access facilities and develop their skills.
“Thank you very much, Chairman, for your kind words and for this great recognition,” Wanyeche said.
“I am truly humbled and grateful to you, the management and the entire TPDF Lugalo Golf Club membership for your continued support, encouragement and belief in me.
“Winning the TGU Morogoro Open for the third consecutive time is a very special achievement for me, and I am proud to have represented Lugalo in the best way I can.”
“Your support gives me even more motivation to keep working hard, improving my game and pushing myself to reach higher levels in golf,” he added.
Wanyeche also promised the Lugalo chairman that he would continue working hard to make both the club and Tanzania proud.
Despite his recent success, Wanyeche said financial support remains one of the biggest challenges to taking his career to the next level.
“I have the potential to go much farther than this, but sponsorship is the main challenge. I’m asking companies and other stakeholders to support me so I can go further and proudly fly our flag,” he said.
Beyond his own career ambitions, Wanyeche said he believes in supporting and inspiring young golfers by giving them opportunities to learn, grow and pursue their dreams through golf.
