PREPARATIONS for the 2026 CEOs Luxury Retreat Golf Tournament are gathering pace, with more than 70 golfers already confirming participation ahead of the prestigious event at Sea Cliff Golf Resort & Spa Golf Club in Zanzibar on September 26.
Sea Cliff Golf Resort & Spa Club Manager Sophie Nyanjera said the response from golfers and sponsors had provided a strong boost to preparations for the 18-hole Stableford tournament.

She commended sponsors Vodacom, Exim Bank, United Petroleum, Enkisoma Africa, TBL, Amref Flying Doctors, MMI Steel, White Sands Hotel and Auric Air for supporting the event and smoothen preparation.

“Preparations are in full swing, thanks to the support from our sponsors who have come forward to ensure everything is on track. We also welcome other partners to come on board, as the door remains open,” Nyanjera said.
She also praised TPDF Lugalo Golf Club in Dar es Salaam for leading the registration drive, with golfers from Muthaiga Golf Club in Kenya, as well as Zambia and Nigeria, among those who have already confirmed their participation. Registration remains open to golfers wishing to take part.
The tournament is expected to bring together chief executive officers, diplomats, business leaders and golfers from Tanzania and beyond, providing an opportunity for competition, networking and engagement among members of the business and golfing communities.
Nyanjera said the event would also help showcase Sea Cliff Golf Club and its facilities while supporting the broader relationship between golf, business and community development.
Amref Flying Doctors Country Representative Raymond Makarara said the organisation was pleased to support the tournament for the first time and looked forward to being part of the annual event.

The tournament will also mark the first CEO Golf Tournament under the leadership of Club Captain Tazio Bercelli and Vice-Captain Collins Chemng’orem, who were elected in the club’s first-ever members’ election in December 2025.
Since taking office, the leadership has worked with Nyanjera and other club officials on efforts to strengthen the club, increase participation and make golf more accessible to the wider community.
Set against Zanzibar’s Indian Ocean coastline, the tournament is expected to combine competitive golf with business networking and an evening social programme, further positioning Sea Cliff Golf Club as a venue for sporting and business events.
