TLGU Unveils Bold Vision for Women's Golf

The Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU) has unveiled its 2026–2030 Presidential Vision and Strategic Plan while launching the inaugural Lady President's Golf Cup 2026, scheduled for July 10–11 at Lugalo Golf Club in Dar es Salaam.

Under the theme "Drive It. Tee the Future.", the Union aims to position Tanzania among Africa's leading women's golf nations by expanding junior golf, strengthening elite competition and creating leadership opportunities for women through the sport.

TLGU president Timea Chogo said the strategy is designed to provide a clear pathway for girls and women, from grassroots participation to national representation and leadership.

The four-year roadmap is anchored on three strategic pillars: Victory Path, which focuses on elite performance; the Eagle Initiative, dedicated to junior and grassroots development; and Beyond the Fairway, which promotes leadership, mentorship and career development through golf.
 
The Lady President's Golf Cup, sponsored by BLANQ Advertising Network, marks the first major milestone in implementing the strategy.

Tournament sponsor and BLANQ Founder Amin Swai spoke during the launch of the tournament.

Organisers expect the championship to evolve into one of East Africa's premier women's golf events, attracting top amateur golfers from across the region.

BLANQ founder Amin Swai described the three-year partnership as an investment in the future of women's golf and female leadership in Tanzania.

Beyond hosting major tournaments, TLGU plans to expand school golf programmes, increase membership, nurture junior talent and strengthen Tanzania's presence in regional and continental competitions as it pursues its long-term vision of becoming a leading force in African women's golf.
