All eyes and ears are on Zanzibar as more than 80 golfers prepare to tee off at the 2026 CEOs Luxury Retreat Golf Tournament.
The annual prestigious event will tee off tomorrow, on Saturday September 26, 2026, at Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Golf Club in Zanzibar.
Organisers and sponsors have expressed their appreciation to everyone involved as preparations for the annual tournament have been completed ahead of what promises to be an exciting event.
Sea Cliff Zanzibar Golf Manager Sophie Nyanjera told reporters at a press conference in Zanzibar today that they were pleased to host more than 80 golfers from different countries.

“Preparations are finalised. We have golfers from Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, South Africa and Nigeria, who have joined players from Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar for an 18-hole battle for top honours,” she said.
Sea Cliff Golf Club Captain Tazio Bercelli said preparations had been completed and thanked the organising team, noting that the course is in very good condition.

Bercelli, who is also one of the tournament sponsors through Villa Kiva, said they were proud and honoured to be part of the event.
“Let’s enjoy this one first as we are preparing for the biggest one next year,” he said, welcoming all golfers and sponsors to a day of retreat, networking and friendship.
The tournament, which among other objectives promotes Zanzibar tourism, attracts chief executive officers (CEOs), diplomats, business leaders and golfers from across Africa and beyond.
The tournament’s main sponsor, Vodacom Tanzania Head of Marketing and Enablement for Vodacom Business Joseph Sayi, said the company was pleased to be part of the tournament for the second consecutive year.

“Vodacom is more than a communications service provider. We are proud to associate with golf because it is also more than a game.
“It brings together and connects players and business people,” he said.
EXIM Bank representative Ramadani Abbas Abdallah added that the bank had participated in the tournament for five consecutive years and that it was worthwhile to be part of the event.
“It is a pleasure and a valuable opportunity for us to be part of a tournament that brings together businesspeople and senior decision-makers from companies. We have three branches in Zanzibar and we continue to welcome people to use our services,” he said.
MMI Steel Mills Chief Executive Officer Gurlochan Singh thanked Sea Cliff Zanzibar for giving the company the honour of being part of the event and wished all participants success.
Ismail Ali of R.K Sadricko said the company was proud to participate in the tournament for the first time.
He thanked Sea Cliff Zanzibar and pledged the company’s commitment to promoting and developing golf in Tanzania and beyond.

Representing AMREF Flying Doctors, the organisation that provides reliable emergency medical services through air transport in Tanzania and beyond, Business Development Executive Raymond Makarara thanked Sea Cliff for making them part of the event, describing it as an important opportunity.
Sea Cliff Financial Controller, Naveen Singh, said the tournament received a great response and expressed his sincere appreciation to everyone who participated and supported the event.
He hopes everyone will enjoy the tournament and their time at Sea Cliff Resort.
The organisers also thanked the players, managers, officials, supporters and other stakeholders for their contribution, saying their participation are vital to the success of the gathering.
Club professional golfer Stanley Sanga said Sea Cliff Zanzibar had successfully organised the event for more than a decade, helping to promote Zanzibar tourism.
“This event brings together golfers from across the globe. Apart from playing golf, they also take the opportunity to visit tourism sites,” Sanga added.

The competition provides participants with an opportunity to combine competitive golf with business networking and social interaction.
Other co-sponsors are United Petroleum, Tanzania Breweries, White Sands Resort and Conference Centre, Sea Cliff Resort & Spa, Auric Air, Kenya Airways, Park Hyatt Zanzibar, Rupa’s Gift Centre, Zanzi Resort, Multi-Color Printers, ZMMI, Zanzibar Serena Hotel, ASKB, Esoma, and Azam Marine.
The tournament will also mark the first CEO Golf Tournament under the leadership of Bercelli and Club Vice-Captain Collins Chemng’orem, who were nominated to the two leadership positions following the club’s first-ever members’ nomination process in December 2025.
